in Miami
Patients come to us at different stages. Some are ready to start teeth straightening with aligners, some are still weighing orthodontic options and some are simply looking for a less visible option than traditional metal braces. Wherever you’re on your teeth straightening journey, we’ll meet you there.
At Miami One Dental, we offer a range of clear aligner options including Invisalign, Angel Aligners and Smile TRU, with treatment planned and managed by our clinical team from start to finish. A complimentary consultation is available so you can explore your options, understand what may be involved and get a cost estimate so you can make an informed decision at your own pace.
Aligner Consultation
Not sure if aligners are the right option for you? Our complimentary consultation is the place to find out. When you come in, you’ll sit down with one of our dentists for a thorough assessment of your teeth, bite and jaw. We’ll talk through what you’d like to achieve, explain what’s realistic for your situation and walk you through the treatment options available to you. An initial evaluation will be conducted, including X-ray to determine your suitability.
You’ll leave with an understanding of potential treatment options, an indicative timeline and a cost range to help you make an informed decision before committing to anything. There’s no obligation to proceed and no pressure. The consultation covers assessment and discussion only. Additional diagnostics or treatment planning may incur fees if you decide to proceed.
Clear Aligner Options
Invisalign
Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, removable trays to gradually shift your teeth into position. Each set of trays is worn for about one to two weeks before moving to the next. Invisalign treatment is suited to a wide range of cases, from mild crowding and spacing through to more complex bite concerns. The trays are virtually invisible and can be removed for eating, drinking and brushing, which makes them a practical choice for patients who want flexibility during treatment.
Angel Aligners
Angel Aligners are a clear aligner system that works on the same principle as Invisalign, using a series of custom trays to move your teeth gradually. They’re a quality alternative that can suit patients looking for effective teeth straightening solutions at a different price point, usually lower than Invisalign. Your treatment is still planned and supervised in-practice by Dr Jan, with the same level of clinical oversight throughout.
SmileTru Aligners
SmileTRU is designed as a more affordable option compared to Invisalign and Angel Aligners, while still delivering reliable results for mild to moderate orthodontic concerns. While they are carefully planned onsite by our dentists and follow a similar digital scan and treatment planning approach, the materials and movement technology are unique to SmileTRU. They are more popular for cases requiring correction of mild to moderate misalignment of the front visible teeth, also known as ‘social six’.
Like Invisalign Work
This is the exciting part where you receive your first batch of aligners. The number of aligners provided depends on your personalised treatment plan. Additional sets or refinement aligners may be scheduled later to finalise your treatment.
At this appointment, we ensure your aligners fit correctly and that you feel comfortable wearing them. We’ll show you how to place and remove them, explain what to expect day to day, and provide a clear schedule for moving through your next sets, which could be weekly or fortnightly. You’ll also receive guidance on how to care for your aligners and what to do if you lose or break any of your ongoing aligners.
Your first appointment is complimentary. One of our dentists will assess your teeth, bite and jaw alignment and talk through what you’d like to change. We’ll explain what’s achievable, recommend if an aligner system is suitable for your needs and give you a cost estimate and indicative timeline so you can consider your options before making a decision.
If aligners aren’t the right fit, or if any other dental concerns such as decay need to be addressed before starting orthodontic treatment, we’ll discuss them with you.
Once we’ve confirmed your suitability and you’re ready to proceed, we take precise digital scans to create a 3D model of your teeth and bite. This allows us to carefully map each stage of your tooth movement before your aligners are fabricated. You’ll be able to see your proposed outcome through a smile simulation and be part of the planning process before treatment begins.
When you can clearly visualise the direction of your smile and have your say, the decision to move forward feels more considered and reassuring.
Before your first aligners are fitted, we prepare your teeth for treatment. Depending on your case, this may involve creating space with extraction of selected tooth or placing small composite attachments. These attachments are tiny, tooth-coloured removable composite additions bonded to specific teeth to help guide precise movement with your aligners. They allow the aligners to apply the right amount of pressure in the right direction. Attachments are typically placed on the same day you receive and begin wearing your first set of aligners, and are removed later precisely when the plan dictates during the treatment process.
Once everything is in place, your treatment begins with your first series of trays fitted comfortably to your teeth.

Each set of removable orthodontic aligners must be worn for around 20 to 22 hours a day for effective results. They should be worn at all times, except when eating or drinking anything other than plain, room-temperature water.
You will start seeing a gradual shift in the position of your teeth as you progress through each set of aligners. There is usually a short adjustment period at the beginning. A sense of pressure when changing to a new set is expected as your teeth begin to shift with each progressive set, and it may take a little time to get used to speaking with them in.
Throughout your treatment, we schedule appointments at regular intervals on every visit, though these are typically less frequent than for braces or more complex orthodontic cases. Some of these visits are simply to ensure everything is tracking well and that you are confidently moving through each set of aligners.
Depending on your treatment plan, we may also schedule appointments to make adjustments, such as measuring and adding refinement aligners to achieve the desired final positions or creating space for movement by filing small amounts of enamel in between some teeth, modifying attachments or adding elastic bands to apply new pressure.
Once treatment is complete, it is just as important to protect your hard-earned results. Teeth naturally tend to shift back toward their original positions, also known as orthodontic relapse, which is why aftercare is essential to maintain your new alignment. Depending on your case, this may involve removable retainers that look similar to clear aligners and are worn at night, a fixed retainer that is a thin wire permanently bonded to the back of the front teeth, or both. Consider these as guardrails for your straightened teeth.
We will also schedule follow up appointments, which are less frequent than during your treatment, just to ensure there is no orthodontic relapse or to address it before it eventuates.

Invisalign and Clear Aligners
For Adults and Teens
Invisalign for adults is one of the most common smile makeover treatments we provide here at Miami One Dental. Many of our adult patients have lived with crooked or crowded teeth for years and want a discreet way to straighten them without traditional metal braces. Because the trays are clear and removable, they fit around work, social life and day-to-day routines more easily than fixed braces for many patients.
We also offer clear aligners for teens. Younger patients benefit from the same technology, with built-in compliance indicators that help indicate wear time. We’ll discuss with you and your teen what’s involved so everyone is on the same page before treatment begins.
Clear Aligners vs Braces,
Which is Better?
Clear aligners such as Invisalign are often a good alternative to traditional metal braces. In many cases, clear aligners can be an effective and far more convenient option for mild to moderate alignment concerns, and in some cases can achieve results similar to braces. They’re removable, easier to clean around, less visible than fixed braces and generally more gentle on the inside of your cheeks and gums.
For more complex orthodontic cases, fixed braces may be more appropriate, and we can refer you to a trusted specialist if that’s the case. During your consultation, we’ll assess your teeth and let you know what’s achievable with aligners and what might require a different approach.
Invisalign and Clear Aligners Cost
The cost of clear aligners depends on the complexity of your case, the number of trays required, type of treatment selected and the length of treatment. Simpler cases with mild crowding or spacing will generally cost less than more complex treatments involving bite correction or significant movement.
The clear aligners cost at Miami One Dental also varies depending on the system used. Angel Aligners and Smile TRU may sit at a lower price point to Invisalign, depending on what’s involved. We provide a full cost breakdown during your consultation so you know exactly what to expect before committing.
Payment Options
Aligner treatment is a bigger investment than a routine appointment, so we offer flexible payment plans through Afterpay and Denticare to help you manage the cost over time. Denticare is particularly suited to longer treatment plans, while Afterpay can work well for smaller upfront costs like retainers. We also accept full payment upfront through cash and major cards without any added fee.
Frequently Asked Questions
Treatment length depends on the complexity of your case. Mild cases may take as little as six months, while more involved treatments can take 12 to 18 months or longer. We’ll give you an estimated timeline during your consultation based on your individual situation.
It depends on your case. Clear aligners may be suitable for patients with mild to moderate alignment concerns and they offer the advantage of being removable and discreet. For more complex cases, traditional braces may be more appropriate. The best way to find out which option suits your situation is to book a complimentary consultation.
Costs vary based on the aligner system, the complexity of your case and the number of trays required. We provide a detailed cost breakdown at your consultation so there are no surprises. Payment plans through Afterpay and Denticare are available to help spread the cost, if required.
You should remove your clear aligners before eating and drinking anything other than plain, room temperature water. This protects the trays from staining or damage and helps maintain good oral hygiene throughout treatment. Aligners should be worn for around 20 to 22 hours a day for the treatment to stay on track.
Yes. We offer aligner options designed for teens, with compliance indicators built into the trays to help indicate wear time. We’ll discuss suitability with you and your teen during the consultation.

If you lose or break an aligner, it’s important to contact us as soon as possible. Depending on where you are in your treatment, we may advise you to move on to your next set of aligners or provide a replacement for the damaged one. Generally, if you are near the end of your current set’s wearing period, you can progress to the next set. If you have just started wearing the damaged set, you may need to go back to the previous set temporarily.
Avoid wearing damaged or ill-fitting aligners, as this can affect your treatment progress.
Some people may notice a slight lisp or change in speech when they first start wearing Invisalign or any brand of clear aligners in general. This is usually temporary and occurs because your tongue needs to adjust to the new plastic covering your teeth.
Most patients adapt within a few days to a couple of weeks. Speaking slowly, reading aloud, or practising difficult sounds can help speed up the adjustment. Clear aligners are designed to be a snug fit on your teeth's shape, so any speech changes are typically minor and short-lived.
